The Liberal government's decision to change the words to O Canada is a good step forward, but it doesn't go far enough. Here are some more changes we should see in the near future:
"O Canada" should be changed to "Yo Canada" to make it more relevant to generation Z.
"Our home and native land" should be removed because it is offensive to immigrants.
"True patriot love" should be removed, because it reminds me of radical, gun-loving, American patriots like Donald Trump. Honestly, who wants a reference to Trump in their national anthem? Not me!
"True north strong and free" should be removed, because it's offensive to people who live in the southern parts of the country, like Toronto. It's not a good idea to offend the centre of the universe.
"From far and wide" should be removed because it's offensive to fat people (such as your mom).
"We stand on guard for thee" should be removed, because it is offensive to people in wheelchairs who can't stand up.
Last but not least, "God keep our land" should be removed because it is offensive to atheists.
In short, our national anthem should just be the 2 words "Yo Canada" sung over and over again. Because that's what Canada is all about.
